Sourcing Merchandiser

A Sourcing Merchandiser is a professional who monitors inventory levels and product displays in retail stores, ensuring that products are strategically placed to maximize sales.

Job Responsibility

  • The Sourcing Merchandiser is responsible for order analysis, ensuring on-time shipment, executing orders flawlessly according to customer quality requirements, and meeting our cost objectives.
  • Arrange product samples and materials for customer approval in a timely manner for production.
  • Ensure order profitability by purchasing the right material quality at the right cost and ensuring on-time delivery for production.


Job Duties

  1. Planning and Developing Merchandising Strategies: Merchandisers create strategies that balance customer expectations with the company’s objectives.
  2. Analyzing Sales Figures and Market Trends: They analyze sales data, customer reactions, and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges and stock.
  3. Collaborating with Buyers, Suppliers, Distributors, and Analysts: Merchandisers negotiate prices, quantities, and time-scales with various stakeholders.
  4. Maximizing Customer Interest and Sales Levels: They display products appropriately to attract customer attention and increase sales.
  5. Layout Planning for Stores: Merchandisers produce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory.
  6. Forecasting Profits/Sales and Planning Budgets: They monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, and clear-outs.
  7. Building Constructive Customer Relationships: Merchandisers work with channel partners to build a pipeline and close deals.


Requirements

  • Proven working experience in merchandising.
  • Creativity in identifying target audiences and devising engaging campaigns.
  • Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening, presentation, and decision-making abilities.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to understand customer needs.
  • A degree in Marketing or a related field.
